Our Mission
Haven of Love Dog Rescue is dedicated
to being a Haven for dogs in crisis in our and surrounding communities regardless of breed, age, or physical condition. To rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving forever homes for these abused, abandoned, and unwanted dogs. Working together with other rescues and outreach and consulting with animal welfare professionals using current accepted practices to ensure healthy dogs through education, advocacy and affordable services, and working to foster a community where the animal-human bond is celebrated and nurtured.

This adorable 35-pound pittie mix is an absolute must-see, and she's on the hunt for her forever home! At just 2 years old, Tink is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all her vaccinations - she's ready to steal your heart.
Tink may do best as the only pup in the house, but get this - she's a total cat whisperer! This social butterfly gets along great with feline friends. And just wait until you see her all bundled up in a cozy sweater - talk about an irresistible sight!

Champ's Second Chance at Life 💔💗
Champ is a 2-year-old pit bull bundle of energy and love, but his start in life was anything but easy. This sweet boy spent his days and nights chained up outside 24/7 in the harsh streets of Detroit, his heart ravaged by a severe heartworm infection.
The vets said Champ's condition was so dire that the kindest thing might be to end his suffering. But we just couldn't give up on him. When we looked into those soulful eyes, we saw a happy, resilient spirit that deserved a second chance.
With the guidance of the National Heartworm Association, we moved forward with Champ's treatment, carefully monitoring him for any signs of discomfort. It's been a long, difficult journey, but we have the most amazing news to share...

This charming little guy is a stocky Staffordshire terrier mix weighing about 35 lbs of pure love and energy! Turk is not only adorable but also fully prepared for his forever home—he's up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, neutered, and potty trained.
Turk has a remarkable spirit and resilience. His wounds from rope and acid burns from before he was rescued are all healing nicely, and we’re thrilled to see that his fur is already growing back!
But wait, there’s more! Turk has an infectious personality that makes him the life of the party. He’s got a heart full of love for everyone he meets and gets along famously with other dogs. We’re not sure how he feels about cats, though, so meet and greets with any potential fur siblings are always required!
Turk thrives in a home with a fully fenced yard where he can frolic and play to his heart's content. He would make a fantastic addition to any loving family looking for a playful companion.

Ziva - A Resilient Belgian Malinois in Need of a Dedicated Foster Home
Ziva is a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois who has endured more hardship in her young life than any dog should. This smart, sensitive girl was tragically left chained up without food until she was finally rescued. As a result, Ziva is extremely thin, but our team is working hard to get her healthy and strong again.
Despite the trauma she's faced, Ziva's spirit remains unbroken. She is an incredibly intelligent dog who walks beautifully on a leash, checking in with her handler constantly. Ziva knows commands like "stay" and will politely wait to be released before going through doorways. Her affinity for fetch is matched only by her love of cuddling up on the couch for pets and affection.
However, Ziva does have some challenges that will require an experienced Malinois foster home. She does not seem to be fond of other animals, so she must be the only pet in the home. Ziva will also need a fully fenced yard with at least a 6-foot fence, as this high-energy breed requires ample space to run and play.
Additionally, Ziva exhibits some resource guarding behaviors that will need to be addressed through patient, positive training. But with the right guidance and structure, we know Ziva can overcome this obstacle.

Searching for a Loving Foster Home for Layla
We are reaching out to find a special foster home for our gentle giant, Layla. If you have a cozy, pet-free space and a spot on your couch (or even your lap) for her big, lovable head, we’d love to hear from you!
Layla is a stunning pit mix, weighing in at a hefty 73 pounds of pure affection. Sadly, she was found abandoned and left chained up, vulnerable to harm. When she was rescued, she bore the marks of her past with over 30 bite wounds. Thankfully, both her wounds and her spirit are healing beautifully, and we would love to see her in a foster home where she can continue to heal and learn what a life with a loving family feels like.
She is house-trained, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and while she isn't spayed yet, we are committed to getting that done soon. Layla needs a fully fenced yard with a 6-foot fence and would do best with older kids, 12 and up.
