Our Mission
Haven of Love Dog Rescue is dedicated
to being a Haven for dogs in crisis in our and surrounding communities regardless of breed, age, or physical condition. To rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving forever homes for these abused, abandoned, and unwanted dogs. Working together with other rescues and outreach and consulting with animal welfare professionals using current accepted practices to ensure healthy dogs through education, advocacy and affordable services, and working to foster a community where the animal-human bond is celebrated and nurtured.

Nugget is the kind of puppy people dream about.
This little guy is 4–6 months old and is an absolute lover of everything and everyone. He’s sweet, playful, cuddly, and just happy to be included in whatever you’re doing. Nugget is amazing with other dogs, and he’s currently living with a senior dog and our foster-fail queen Mia — and he fits in perfectly with both.
And the best part?
Nugget came from a scary shelter kennel where he was shaking from fear… but the second he got into his foster home, his turnaround was INSTANT. Like a light switch flipped. 💛
He became the happy, wiggly, loving puppy he was meant to be.

Lizzie is a 1.5-year-old pit/boxer mix who is great with kids, potty trained, and spayed. She’s a sweet, playful young dog who would thrive with an active family — especially one with kids she can run and play with.
Lizzie has spent too much time crated and living in an apartment with no room to move. She’s longing for a fully fenced yard where she can finally stretch her legs, roll in the grass, chase toys, and enjoy being a carefree young pup.
She doesn’t need much — just time, love, and a family who wants her around.

We're on the lookout for a special foster-to-adopt home for our gentle giant, Layla! This stunning 80-pound Pit Cane Corso mix has a heart as big as her size, and she's ready to bring her boundless love and affection into a forever home.
Layla was found abandoned and cruelly chained up, covered in over 30 bite wounds from her painful past. But despite the trauma she's endured, she is healing beautifully—both physically and emotionally. Now, she's eagerly awaiting the chance to experience the warmth and comfort of a loving foster-to-adopt home.
This sweet girl is house-trained, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and will be spayed soon. She needs a fully fenced yard (at least 6 feet high) and would do best in a home with older kids (12+ due to her size). Once Layla is spayed, we can finalize the adoption and make her a permanent part of your family.

Humans haven’t always been kind to me, and because of that, I take a little longer to trust. I bark at first — it’s how I protect myself. But underneath that, I promise… there’s a heart that just wants to belong.
I’m not looking for a busy house.
I don’t want noise, chaos, or constant visitors.
I need calm. I need quiet. I need someone who wants to be my world as much as I’ll be theirs.
No kids. No other pets. Just me and you.
A safe home with a fenced yard where I can run, play, and splash in the hose.

Big Poppy is a 2-year-old Mastiff who wandered onto a porch in Detroit and just… stayed. He picked his people and never looked back — now he’s hoping someone picks him.
